Welcome aboard to our new team members!

We are excited to have nearly doubled our team with three new members, Charlotte, Amie and Sarah at FareShare Sussex.

I’m Charlotte and I am the Project Development Intern currently studying BA Geography and International development at the University of Sussex. I’m looking forward to getting to meet all the amazing volunteers and seeing how a small charity operates in Brighton. Also looking forward to meeting some of our charity members and see the incredible work they do in across Sussex. I am excited about FareShare expanding into Surrey and I’m enjoying contacting new charities who may not have heard of us before and offering them our food delivery service. In the future I’d like to get a permanent role in a charity, helping people in my local community to improve their lives.

I’m Amie and I am the Digital Media Intern and I am currently studying English and Media Studies at the University of Sussex, having done a term abroad at The University of Rochester. I am most looking forward to getting to meet the charities we work with and what they do for our community. I’m as excited to be creating social media posts and blogs that will create a big impact for FareShare Sussex’s following. I would like to become a news correspondent as I was influenced by my granddad who was a journalist in The Gambia so I have grown up exposed to journalism followed by an interest in broadcasting.

I’m Sarah and I am the new volunteer coordinator and I graduated from Sussex with a Masters in International Development. I’m looking forward to getting to know all the new volunteers and learning more about how the project works, as well as supporting the volunteers at FareShare Sussex have a really great experience here. I broadly want to work in community engagement which FareShare Sussex has given me the opportunity to do. In the future I would like to do a PhD in Prison reform.
