Volunteer with us

Volunteers are the heart of FareShare Sussex and they keep the project thriving. We are always looking for more enthusiastic people to get involved. You could drive the vans, assist on deliveries, sort food or maintain the warehouse. We also sometimes have office and events roles available, and we are always looking for people interested in fundraising for us too.

If you are looking to build your confidence and your work skills, meet and socialise with a great mix of people and support the fight against food waste and poverty in your city, why not come and work with us?

We are currently recruiting for a brand new role – e-cargo bike volunteer.

The role of e-cargo bike volunteer is part of a new project funded by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme), with the aim of expanding our operation to reach smaller suppliers and projects using green transport. As an e-cargo bike volunteer, you will be riding our new EAVcab cargo bike to collect and deliver surplus food from new suppliers and projects in Brighton and Hove.

Find the full role description below and to register your interest please email Lara – lara@faresharesussex.org.uk

If you are interested in volunteering with us in our other roles please click here to be redirected to the Fareshare UK website and choose ‘Sussex Brighton’ from the location drop down menu.

If you would like a paper application please either: email josie@faresharesussex.org.uk or phone us on 01273 671111

For warehouse based volunteers, we ask for a commitment of at least one shift per week. For all volunteers, it requires an ability to follow procedures and a commitment to equal opportunities and adherence to FareShare’s policies.
