Volunteer with us
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering, we really appreciate you choosing us as a charity to give your time to.
We are now welcoming new applications with a view to attend an induction.
Please be mindful that we are an operating warehouse, there is a certain amount of lifting involved and our volunteering roles are not suitable if you have back or knee issues.
There are lots of other ways to support us like holding a fundraiser, making a donation or helping to raise awareness of our work.
Just so you know we ask for a minimum of 3 months commitment.
Our shifts are Monday-Friday 9-1pm or 2:30-6:30pm
We just need for you to commit to one shift per week so we can manage numbers and distance safely in the warehouse.
In the meantime please watch this video to see what volunteering at FareShare looks like.
A feel good fact: each hour you volunteer you save 75 meals from going to waste and redirect it to feed the vulnerable.
Volunteers are the heart of FareShare Sussex and they keep the project thriving. We are always looking for more enthusiastic people to get involved. You could drive the vans, assist on deliveries, sort food or maintain the warehouse. We also sometimes have office and events roles available.
If you are looking to build your confidence and your work skills, meet and socialise with a great mix of people and support the fight against food waste and poverty in your city, why not come and work with us?
Social media volunteer
This is a new exciting role! The social media volunteer will work as part of the Fundraising and Communications Team to help create engaging content to raise awareness on the issue of food waste and, in turn, boost our followers and supporters. For more information, read the role description below:
