Using AmazonSmile is a simple way everyone can help tackle food waste and fight food hunger in Sussex and Surrey.

AmazonSmile lets you donate to your chosen charity every time you shop on Amazon Smile at no extra cost to you. We’re excited to announce that FareShare Sussex is now part of AmazonSmile’s charity list. This means that your online purchases can now contribute to tackling food waste and providing nutritional food for vulnerable people in Sussex and Surrey.

How does AmazonSmile work?

AmazonSmile is simply a website operated by Amazon, with all the same products, prices shopping and features. The only difference is that every time you choose to shop on AmazonSmile, Amazon donates to your chosen charity.

For every eligible product your purchase the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase to the charitable organisation of your choice.

How do I use Amazon Smile?

If you already have an Amazon account, simply visit to get started.

  1. Log on (or create) to your Amazon account and search FareShare Sussex in the ‘pick your own charity’ search bar
  2. Select FareShare Sussex
  3. You’ll receive an email from Amazon confirming your selection
  4. Start shopping – as you normally would

It is important to note that you will always need to purchase your items through the website, rather than the main Amazon site. If you often use the Amazon app on your mobile you will need to switch to using on your online browser.

You will find a full list of AmazonSmile charities you can donate to on their website. Once you’ve selected a charity, AmazonSmile will save your charity. You can change your charity at any time.
